We restore deserted city lots through urban farming and community gardening. Apart from growing foods (in which we have dedicated lots for each type of food), we also reinvigorate community lots with colorful plant mixes and flowers to beautify the city and attract natural habitat.
We donate some of our food to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, and we also sell at the Eastern Market and Wayne State Market.
During off seasons (especially), we engage in greenhouse gardening, and we grow a variety of foods: strawberries, collard greens, kale, okra, green beans, garlic, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, cabbage, broccoli, watermelon, cantaloupe, potatoes, mustard greens, and turnip greens.
Since 2001, we have transformed countless deserted lots in the city of Detroit into gardens and farmland.
on both our lots and in greenhouses, including fruits, veggies, and flowers.
